One of my favorites from the night. It was the look in her eye. Or the lack of the look that struck me about this shot. Nevermind the fact that my camera strap is in the shot, just nevermind it.

Zombie X-ing watch the “F” Out!

Lauren cutting loose after working her ass off on zombie make-up all day.

Lauren was asked to repent, but she did not. Nor did I, nor did anyone I saw out.

WTF was this guy doing? Photo caption contest…start now!
I did the least amount of sorting in this album. I’ve posted pretty much everything I shot from this phase of the night, so if you scroll through the images with the flash gallery you can watch the night in stop motion. If you were out for First Friday October, I probably have a shot of you.

This shoot came about when Lauren approached me about shooting her upcoming “First Friday Halloween Make-Up Event October 2nd.” She is going to start early in the day and has set dead people she’s going to create. From drowning victims to zombies we’ll be seeing a little of everything. It will be cool to see zombies and dead people walking around downtown Augusta so come check it out! Lauren will be doing the make-up at Halo all day and then again for Halloween!
She wanted to do a shoot to get an image or two for a flyer to promote the event. She did the wound make-up and styling for her and her co-worker Nicole. The images above link to the gallery of all the raw shots. I’ll edit a few for a flyer. If you can’t view the gallery click here for a non-flash version.

While leaving work on Friday for the long Labor Day weekend I knew somehthing was amiss when one of my co-workers returned to the building. I thought either a train or god knows what was blocking the closest exit and we would have to go around the long long way by the recycling dump and the impoverished area of Augusta near Gordon Highway where all the homeless drug addicts tend to congregate for dumping off their recycleable goods that they just happened to come across.
Not this time, this time it was some unlucky guy’s SUV had caught fire at the train crossing and the firedept was going to come put out the blaze and we had to get out of the way because if it blew up it could destroy our vehicles. It felt strange walking by a burning vehicle. It’s like we’ve been so conditioned by the movies to think it’s going to blow up and burst into flames at any second. Thing is the explosions we all see and are used to are hollywood effects and cars really don’t explode unless maybe they hit just right and rupture the fuel tank, but not as often as you’d think.
The firemen fighting this blaze didn’t seem to be at all concerned about it exploding. They went right up to it, opend the door and started dowsing it with water. Not the perscribed method of putting out a gasoline fire, but it’s better than dirt or more petrol would be worse still. Anyway they started shooting it with water and it really got interesting to watch. I still thought it might blow up but I think that was just a chilling imagination. I shot video of it for about 6 minutes and then decided I could be sitting there all weekend and headed home.
